Mellow Monday

Hello friends!  It was an exciting and busy weekend over here at the Curling corner.  After leaving the office late Friday (remember, I was a working lady last week) we came home, put Ella to bed and called it a night.  On Saturday morning/ afternoon we went to the beach at Sandbridge.  It was a beautiful day and the hubby even  got to surf.  Later that evening I went to a shower for the wonderful Amanda Harmon... soon to be Mrs. Amanda Dunlow (check her out over at http://www.insightofanewlywed.blogspot.com/.  After the shower we headed south to Rodanthe in search of waves from Hurricane Danielle.  The hubby surfed Sunday morning and after checking the surf forecast for the MILLIONTH time, he decided that "the waves in VA Beach are going to be firing on Monday morning", so we packed up and headed back home.  I guess it was payback for my Williamsburg adventure last weekend.  But I am soooo glad we came home early because my sister-in-law gave birth to little Samuel Dean and we were able to go visit them in the hospital, Mom and baby were GREAT!  So this morning me and Ella went for a walk to the park and grocery shopping, while the hubby nursed a cold that he came down with last night.  I even managed to spray paint a small table in between naps!

Here are a few pics of  precious baby Sam

Alarm Clocks and Time Cards

Well this week has been a different experience for me. My husband, Josh, owns a dental office and his front desk secretary, the wonderful Kimberly, has been on vacation. So I was thrown into the waters of dental codes, insurance questions, phone calls, and patient emergencies. While I love spending the day observing my hubby in his daily 8-5 environment, I miss my little Ella so much. I have become very spoiled by being a stay-at-home mom, and not to mention I have been slacking on my blogging!!!! I have a new respect for all the moms out there who do this every day and then go home and become MOM. Although I have complained about having to leave Ella every day she doesn't appear to be bothered by it. She has two wonderful grandmothers who have taken great care of her and I am very thankful for them! So tomorrow morning at 8:00am I will clock in and when 5:00pm rolls around I will go back to being just "Ella's mom" and "Josh's wife" but I am completely ok with that :)

Monday Catch-up...

Wow, it is already Monday, this weekend went by way too fast!  Let me catch you up...
On Thursday me, mom, and a few friends went to a baby consignment sale at a church in Va Beach.  This is my third time going and it never disappoints!  They have clothing, toys, shoes, strollers, furniture, and much more.  I always take $40 and this time I left with 3 dresses, 4 outfits, 2 jackets, and $1 ( I LOVE a great deal)!

Josh had off on Friday and after Ella took a !!!!3 HOUR NAP!!!!! we met up with a friend for lunch down at the oceanfront.  Ella then decided that 3 hours just wasn't enough so she came home and had another little cat-nap, she must have been tired from her busy week.

On Saturday we decided (well I decided and Josh just went along with it) to join my parents for a day in Williamsburg.  They picked us up at 10:00 am and off we went.  First stop was the outlets where mom and I shopped and dad and Josh watched Ella (fed Ella popcorn and a snow cone).  Then we went to lunch and once again, I decided wouldn't it be fun to go to Colonial Williamsburg... After a few wrong turns we were walking the cobblestone roads and wondering why we decided this would be fun.  It may have been more exciting if we bought the $36 PER PERSON pass to actually go in the exhibits, and if they had more drink stands on the extremely hot day.  Oh well, it was still nice to just be with the family.  After 45 minutes and no drink we decided we had seen enough of Colonial Williamsburg.  Here are a few pictures form our adventure :)

On Sunday we went to church and then lunch at my grandmother's.  Josh then left for Rodanthe in search of waves.  Ella and I indulged in a little retail therapy and I found a beautiful quilt for our bed... hmmm...I think it is time for a room makeover :)

Wet-n-WiLd Wednesday!

Today me and Ella went to Botanical Gardens with family for little Abigail's 2nd birthday!  During the summer they have an exhibit of little houses called "The Enchanted Storybook Forest".  Each house is from a popular nursery rhyme or children's book.  Ella loved to run around with the big kids and go exploring.  After a long and HOT walk we finally made it to the Water Garden.  It was so nice to get our feet wet and cool off!

Tuesday Timeout...

While I was cleaning this morning I glanced at my computer screensaver and saw a picture from Ella's 1st Birthday last week.  I stopped folding the laundry (I will do ANYTHING to avoid folding the laundry) and looked through the "Birthday Album".  Here are a few highlight from the special day :)
