a change for a New Year

For Christmas my lovely mother bought me a slipper chair.  I fell in love with these chairs from Target and after she purchased TWO i began to secretly plot how to steal borrow one of hers :)  My condo is very narrow (as you saw hereand there are not many ways to rearrange so I was a little worried about adding another piece of furniture to the already cramped space.  So after taking down allllll the Christmas decorations and tree (yes, I am one of those people who put their decorations up before Thanksgiving and take them down the day after Christmas, I get it from my mama)  I came up with this...

(pssst...There is an extra bonus if you can spot Milo)

I really wish I would have taken a picture of my house after the madness of Christmas day so that you would fully appreciate this haha!

It's Christmas Time at The Curling Corner

I think the last time I posted a blog I was wearing short sleeves and now I am bundled up in a warm robe and flannel pants because it is a coooold 32' now!  Winter time is definitely here!
Anywho...
We have been busy trying to create some fun family traditions with Ella.  Last week we took her to Christmas Town at Busch Gardens and unfortunately she was not a fan... in her defense, it was freeeeezing outside and she had to ride in her stroller the whole time (she seems to think it is a torture device).  We did manage to take a few pics that made it look like we had a great time.

The next day we bought our Christmas tree...

And finally I decided it would be fun to take Ella to see the Christmas lights on the boardwalk at Va Beach.  The first 5 minutes (Josh swears it wasn't even that long) she loved it!!

but then something snapped in her and she decided that is wasn't fun anymore and had a complete MELTDOWN little cry.  So after trying to console her she got loaded back into her carseat and we had to drive 10 mph on the boardwalk for 25 more minutes with a screaming and tired toddler in the backseat.

I thought Josh was going to drive off the boardwalk and go off road on the beach to get us out of there, but he composed himself well...haha!  Oh well, can't blame a Mom for trying.  Now, the question is, dare we try pictures with Santa???
